Cynthia Hernandez is a native of Del Rio, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN).

In 2007, Ms. Hernandez, received her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) as an Acute Care Nurse Practioner. Most of her nursing career has been as a critical care nurse working in ICU and CCU, but she has done Medical Surgical and ER Nursing as well. Ms. Hernandez has trained and worked at University Hospital, Baptist Medical Center, St. Lukes Baptist Hospital and most recently at Val Verde Regional Medical Center.

Since joining our team at Del Rio Heart Institute in 2007 as an Acute Care Nurse Practioner, Ms. Hernandez has worked alongside with Dr. Michele Di Blasi in his cardiology practice. Ms. Hernandez is also in charge of our Blood Pressure Clinic and Coumadin Clinic, where she carefully monitors the care and needs of each patient.
